This course is for seniors in the Spanish Department who are majoring and embarking on writing their capstone thesis projects. The process of writing a capstone thesis extends over your entire senior year, but this syllabus is specific to the fall semester senior seminar only. This seminar will help you identify a research question, complete preliminary research on this topic, present a prospectus and write an initial sample of your senior thesis in Spanish. You will work primarily with the faculty member running the senior seminar in the fall as well as your cohort, but you will also meet with potential thesis advisors in our department or other departments, as well as meet with specialists from the Library and the Writing Center, who will all help you refine your research questions and develop research strategies for the spring.
