An introductory course provides the comprehensive foundation and skills of Monotype Printing through hands-on activities. Exploration in Masks and Stencils method, Subtractive imaging, Direct Painting in Solvents experiments, Embossing, Collage, and painterly methods are addressed. Creative ideas and approaches are highly encouraged. Individual discussions and group critiques regarding visual components, ideas, and concepts are held periodically. Practice is necessary during and outside of class meetings. Additional drawings are requested.
